Finding ways to make your ETL loads faster is not always obvious. Moreover, there is a difference in how you should tune OLAP vs OLTP databases. Some of the techniques we’ve learned down through the years tuning EBS, for example, seem to make no effect on tuning a BI ETL. We will discuss why this is the case, present some techniques on how to find the bottlenecks in your BI ETL jobs and some techniques to tune these slow SQL statements. You can improve the speed of your nightly ETL jobs. I will show you what I’ve learned and how you can get started.
