Hadoop has evolved into a major part of the data management landscape over the last decade. The explosive growth of data in enterprises was a major driver in the adoption of Hadoop as a viable choice for a broad set of use cases. Yet for some organizations, Hadoop has required many more resources than originally planned, both for implementation and for management. In addition, accessing and analyzing data from Hadoop has proven to be a challenge, with many enterprises succeeding in analyzing only a fraction of their data, with complex queries often taking way too long to execute to be effective. This session will focus on where Hadoop is heading, as well as recommended strategy and steps that can be taken to get the most out of Hadoop today and into the future.
