Your business users express that the performance of the database you manage for them has slowly declined to the point of not meeting required SLAs (service level agreements). Where do you start, and what should you do? More importantly, what are your users' expectations? Business people generally care about two factors: how much (cost) and how soon (time). To them, down time is lost money. Today's DBAs need to examine all of the potential performance fixes available to them. Sometimes a quick, "good enough" but technically suboptimal solution is sufficient and even preferred. DBAs need to make sure they look at all the tools on their performance belt and select what's best for the business, even if it means challenging long-standing golden rules for best practices. In this session, Bert Scalzo of IDERA will present some possible performance improvement options that may be overlooked in the DBA's rush to tune the database. Register today for this discussion titled Quick Database Performance Fixes. Audio is streamed over the Internet, so turn up your computer speakers! |
