The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Team has announced that the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 Release Candidate is now available to partners, marking Red Hat's entrance into the final stages of product delivery for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

IBM and Oracle have announced that they will collaborate to enable developers and customers to build and innovate based on existing Java investments and the OpenJDK reference implementation.

Newsweek has released its 2010 rankings of the greenest companies and, of the top 100 greenest global corporations, IBM came in at number one.

To help clients cut costs and respond quickly to market trends, IBM has unveiled new Informix database software. Informix 11.7 , which was codenamed "Panther" in development, helps clients and partners speed the deployment of critical business solutions at lower cost while boosting performance by as much as 50%.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has begun offering On Demand, Reserved, and Spot instances for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. Amazon EC2 running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is available now in all regions and availability zones.

In a joint project, SAP and IBM have executed a proof of concept (PoC) to show the business advantages of taking an integrated end-to-end enterprise architecture approach with an Intel processor-based strategy. Called "IBM BigX for SAP applications," the PoC showed how an integrated hardware and software "Blue Stack" using IBM and SAP best practices and infrastructure virtualization complements SAP Business Suite applications, delivering lower system complexity, easier management, and reduced costs.
