Helping customers move toward a software-defined data center architecture, SAP AG and VMware announced the HANA platform on VMware vSphere 5.5 for production use has been released to customers.
Ariba, an SAP company that provides cloud-based procurement solutions, is moving to SAP HANA, the company's in-memory platform for real-time computing. The initial step, involving the transition of Ariba Spend Visibility has been completed and the company is now shifting the Ariba Network to the platform. "We have been running cloud operations here for 15 years at Ariba, and we have a mature cloud platform, said SAP Ariba engineering vice president Mark Dao.
To improve cloud and data interoperability, and deliver new mobile and productivity solutions for joint customers, Microsoft and SAP are expanding their partnership of more than 20 years.
The SAP ERP Financials solution, part of the SAP Business Suite, has new capabilities powered by HANA to provide users with a common source of information, new reporting and analytics, and an easier user experience. Currently in ramp-up phase, SAP's early adoption program for customers, the new innovations will be generally available in a few months, according to Amit Sinha, SVP, platform and applications marketing at SAP.
