Application Security, Inc., a provider of database security, risk and compliance solutions for the enterprise, has announced an update for its products, AppDetectivePro for auditors and IT advisors, and DbProtect for the enterprise, in response to the Massachusetts Data Privacy Law 201 CMR 17 effective March 1, 2010.

Confio Software has announced availability of Ignite 8, a major expansion of its database performance solution. Ignite 8 expands the Ignite for Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2 products to include comprehensive performance monitoring in combination with the response-time analysis for which Ignite has been known.

SAP AG and Sybase have announced two new solutions for mobile workers to carry out key business and customer relationship management processes via iPhone and Windows Mobile. Built on the Sybase Unwired Platform, the mobile solutions extend the capabilities of SAP Business Suite applications, including SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM), and also can be customized to tap into a variety of back-end data sources, including databases, web services, files and any enterprise application that leverages service-oriented architecture.

Sybase technical experts are planning a series of Developer Days throughout the United States and Europe to showcase the latest releases of its industry-leading development software. All seminars are free and run from 8:30am - 2pm local time (timing may vary slightly by location) with breakfast and lunch included.

Sybase has announced advanced spatial data functionality as part of the next release of its SQL Anywhere database and synchronization solution. According to Sybase, this release makes it the first vendor to enable development of data-driven spatial applications for leading smartphone devices and synchronize the on-device spatial data with spatial databases, application servers and enterprise systems.

Sybase announced the launch of a new hosted service for mobile messaging traffic analysis — Sybase Operator Analytics 365, based on the latest version of Sybase's column-based analytics server, Sybase IQ 15.1, and combined with the company's global messaging reach. Providing ease-of-use and efficiency, the service can be deployed with minimal effort and offers mobile operators the ability to run deep analytics on their messaging traffic, delivering the data necessary to quickly make mission-critical decisions to improve customer quality of service. The Sybase IQ analytics server enables extreme performance, with the ability to return results on billions of records in just seconds.
