News Flashes

Software intelligence company Dynatrace has extended its advanced AIOps capabilities for leading database environments, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL. New out-of-the-box extensions enable DevOps teams and DBAs to automatically surface and proactively act on real-time answers about the relationship between their database infrastructure and applications. Dynatrace database observability for Oracle is generally available now. Support for Microsoft SQL Server will be generally available within 90 days, and support for additional database platforms will be announced later in 2022.

Equalum, a best-in-class provider of data integration and ingestion solutions, is releasing its Continuous Data Integration Platform (CDIP) Version 3.0, available for on-prem, hybrid, or cloud-based operations. The platform supports real-time streaming use cases as well as batch ETL, replication, and tier one change data capture.

Oracle has announced the availability of Oracle Exadata Cloud Infrastructure X9M. With Oracle Autonomous Database Service or Oracle Exadata Database Service running on Exadata Cloud Infrastructure X9M, customers can run existing workloads faster, with greater scale, and at a lower cost than previous generations. In addition, when upgrading from X8M to X9M, organizations can reduce costs by consolidating hundreds of OTLP, analytics, and mixed database workloads onto a single cloud service.

Think About It

It is well known that a database is the fundamental building block for any data-based initiative. Databases are used when collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing data. A database is the silent component that drives business decisions and operational improvements or simply keeps track of inventory. As much as the database should be the almost invisible part of these processes, it is crucial to make the right choice. While it might look easy to select a suitable database, there are a few things to evaluate when making a decision.
