Oracle has announced the latest 12c releases of its Cloud Application Foundation, which integrates application server and in-memory data grid capabilities into a foundation for cloud computing, representing "a major release of our middleware infrastructure," Mike Lehmann, Oracle vice president of product management, tells 5 Minute Briefing. The focus for the products is to provide mission-critical cloud infrastructure and a lot of work has been done around native cloud capabilities, says Lehmann.
Oracle announced the 12c releases of Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), Oracle JDeveloper, and Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse. Enhancing the productivity of developers and allowing them to better leverage the Oracle platform, the new releases support Cloud Application Foundation product family 12c releases - Oracle WebLogic Server 12.1.2 and Oracle Coherence 12.1.2.
The latest version of Oracle's Exalytics In-Memory Machine, version X3-4, features significant software enhancements and hardware updates to improve the capabilities of the high-speed engineered system for business analytics. The new Exalytics X3-4 system doubles the amount of on-board RAM to 2TB, and features 2.4TB of flash storage, and 5.4TB of hard disk.
