LSI Corporation has announced that its Nytro flash accelerator cards have been selected as the PCIe flash acceleration technology for Oracle's Exadata X4. According to the companies, the Nytro DLC technology extends the logical flash storage capacity of Exadata beyond the system's physical flash capacity. This software feature dynamically extends the flash capacity of Exadata X4 systems with the same physical hardware and power requirements for a reduced total cost of ownership.

Addressing CFOs' needs for real-time global views of their organizations and the ability to quickly forecast the effects of the dynamic world in which their businesses operate, Oracle has introduced the Real Time Bottom Line, which includes two new applications for PeopleSoft Financials customers. Engineered for Oracle Engineered Systems, the new Oracle In-Memory Applications are designed to help the office of the CFO drive business performance through faster, well-informed decisions based on real-time simulation of business, organizational and regulatory changes.

New IOUG (Independent Oracle Users Group) research underwritten by EMC looks at the problem of mission-critical-application downtime and its impact on organizations. According to this new global survey, among respondents with at least two data centers and rapid replication solutions, 46% indicate are less than satisfied with their current strategies.

Oracle has introduced Oracle Cloud Adapters to help organizations easily integrate applications regardless of deployment location - in the cloud or on-premise. Oracle Cloud Adapters are supported by Oracle SOA Suite, a unified application integration solution..
