Canonical, a gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), is working with Oracle to provide enterprises with flexibility in the way they develop and deploy large-scale workloads on Oracle Cloud. With the partnership, which was announced via an Ubuntu Insights blog post, certified Ubuntu images are now available on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, providing Oracle enterprise customers with new options for managing and scaling workloads.
Cognizant has acquired privately-held KBACE Technologies, Inc., a global consulting and technology services vendor specializing in cloud strategy, implementation, and integration.
Oracle continued to hammer home its message on the value of cloud at its CloudWorld event for customers and partners at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Cloud is critical to IT because of a confluence of factors, ranging from business trends to demographics, said Mark Hurd, Oracle CEO, in his keynote at the event, repeating a warning he has issued at past Oracle events.

The development of a functional and practical quantum computing system has been "pending" for some decades now, but there are some real signs that this technology may become decisive soon. The implications of cryptography are encouraging major government investment - both the U.S. and China, in particular, are heavily investing in quantum computing technology. The arms race to develop functional quantum computing has begun.
