News Flashes
Pick Cloud's CEO Mark Pick will present a webcast on the benefits as well as challenges of cloud computing that face the MultiValue market. The webcast will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM PT / 1:30 PM ET. According to Pick, cloud computing is an ideal fit for MultiValue and, particularly if existing hardware is at the end-of-life, the cloud in an enterprise-grade environment that is fully managed, can provide a beneficial solution.
Revelation Software plans to include support for OpenID authentication as part of OpenInsight for Web (O4W), a web development toolkit that makes it possible for OpenInsight developers with limited or no HTML, XML or JavaScript experience to develop feature-rich web pages. OpenID allows people to use an existing account to sign in to multiple websites without the need to create new passwords. The new capability will be included in O4W as part of the OpenInsight 10.0 release, which is currently under development, Robert Catalano, director of sales at Revelation, tells DBTA.
Think About It
Data keeps growing, systems and servers keep sprawling, and users keep clamoring for more real-time access. The result of all this frenzy of activity is pressure for faster, more effective data integration that can deliver more expansive views of information, while still maintaining quality and integrity. Enterprise data and IT managers are responding in a variety of ways, looking to initiatives such as enterprise mashups, automation, virtualization, and cloud to pursue new paths to data integration. In the process, they are moving beyond the traditional means of integration they have relied on for years to pull data together.
