Cloudera and Informatica have partnered to create a new Data Warehouse Optimization (DWO) reference architecture specifically for Enterprise Data Hub deployments with the goal of helping reduce data warehouse costs and increasing productivity. Cloudera also announced the public beta offering of Cloudera Enterprise 5, which delivers the new Enterprise Data Hub and enhancements to related products.
Clustrix, a provider of a scale-out SQL database engineered for the cloud, has just released ClustrixDB as a software download. The software enables companies to perform complex analytic at the same time as high transaction volumes on the same database with the need for an additional analytic database.
Extending its efforts to bring more value to organizations using Hadoop technology, MarkLogic has updated its Connector for Hadoop to now allow Hadoop applications direct access to data indexed and managed by the MarkLogic Enterprise NoSQL database platform. Using the Connector, a Hadoop application can directly read all of the data from MarkLogic's compressed data files stored in the Hadoop Distributed File System, without communicating through a MarkLogic database or exporting the data.
Offering DBAs and developers a new means to prove their expertise on MongoDB, the open source document database company has introduced a new program that offers comprehensive exams worldwide through MongoDB University. MongoDB will first offer the Associate MongoDB Certified Developer exam beginning December 3.
