UC4, an IT automation software vendor, announced a partnership with Basis Technologies International (BTI), a provider of add-on solutions that optimize SAP, intended to deliver targeted automation solutions for SAP customers. The joint offering, dubbed "UC4 MDR powered by BTI," will integrate BTI's Mass Data Runtime - an SAP NetWeaver-based solution that delivers data processing improvements - with UC4's ONE Automation platform. The combination of these two products is designed to help accelerate and orchestrate business processes, applications and infrastructure with SAP environments.
MapR Technologies, Inc., the provider of an advanced distribution for Apache Hadoop, has unveiled the MapR Training Academy, a free internet-based source for training videos and documentation to help the Hadoop user community accelerate the use of Hadoop for more business users. MapR Academy provides an introduction to Hadoop as a big data analytics platform and delves into the architecture, design and administration of Hadoop.
Kove, a high performance storage vendor, and ParAccel, provider of a leading analytic platform, have announced a new, joint solution available on Dell's PowerEdge servers and Kove XPD2 Storage intended to enable near-instantaneous analytic database duplication. The Kove-ParAccel database duplication solution enables the rapid delivery of an analytic sandbox clone that can be used by business analysts, or a quick provisioning clone for development and test in traditional on-premise environments.
SAP AG has announced the availability of SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP NetWeaver BW) 7.3 running on the SAP HANA platform. SAP HANA can enhance the query performance and provide faster data loads in SAP NetWeaver BW, and help customers significantly reduce the total cost of ownership for customers by simplifying the administration with reduced data layers, according to SAP. The announcement was made at the SAPPHIRE NOW and SAP TechEd co-located event in Madrid.
SnapLogic, a cloud integration provider, has introduced an integration tool for Birst's cloud business intelligence suite. The solution connects the Birst BI Suite with any finance, operations, marketing, social media, supply chain or other business application, helping to accelerate the adoption of advanced analytics, reporting and business intelligence. "Birst is already a complete BI suite delivering both the visualization capabilities such as dashboards, reports, and ad hoc queries as well the aggregation and optimization in data warehouse," Stefan Schmitz, vice president of products for Birst, tells 5 Minute Briefing.
Vormetric, Inc., a provider of enterprise systems encryption and key management solutions, has introduced Vormetric Key Management, a single solution for central control of encryption keys on an enterprise scale. For organizations with heterogeneous database platforms and an increasing number of encryption keys from disparate encryption systems, Vormetric reduces administration costs and security risks.
