Symantec Corp. has announced Symantec Enterprise Vault 10, Enterprise Vault.cloud, and Cloud Storage for Enterprise Vault to enable organizations to manage and discover their information faster and with greater efficiency and scale, both on-premise and in the cloud. Symantec Enterprise Vault 10 software will add new integration with Symantec's data loss prevention and encryption technologies to archive and discover organizations' information without compromising confidential information, in addition to allowing organizations to discover data stored in the cloud and from social networks. Symantec's software-as-a-service-based Enterprise Vault.cloud will offer unlimited cloud storage for email, with rapid search and access, for a flat fee per mailbox per month.
Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. (ASCI), maker of ActiveBatch Workload Automation and Job Scheduling Software, has received the Informatica Seal of Approval for the ActiveBatch Extension for Informatica. The Informatica Seal of Approval is the result of a rigorous lifecycle testing and validation of up to 30 days by the Informatica Marketplace Certification Team, according to the companies. The ActiveBatch Extension for Informatica supports Informatica PowerCenter and allows users to build "mixed" workflows by coupling them with databases, applications and technologies, across heterogeneous platforms for improved business process automation. Informatica users that require advanced scheduling capabilities can benefit from the ActiveBatch Extension by being able to better manage and control workloads and tasks across disparate systems while improving service levels.
Queplix Corp., a provider of products for data integration and data management, has introduced QueCloud, which enables companies to securely integrate cloud applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, LinkedIn, and FaceBook. QueCloud is the company's first cloud-based platform and it expands the Queplix product line which already includes on-premise products such as Virtual Data Manager.
Teradata Corporation has announced the launch of the Aster Data SQL-MapReduce Developer Portal, a collaborative online developer community for SQL-MapReduce analytics, an emerging framework for processing non-relational data and ultra-fast analytics. "The new Aster Data SQL-MapReduce Developer Community helps bring MapReduce analytics to a broad audience of data scientists and quantitative analysts, helping organizations more easily leverage the power of MapReduce without sacrificing the familiarity and broad ecosystem support for standard SQL," Jon Bock, director of product marketing for Teradata, tells 5 Minute Briefing.
