EMC Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire California-based Greenplum, Inc. Greenplum is a privately-held provider of data warehousing technology, and a key enabler of "big data" clouds and self-service analytics.
HiT Software, a provider of data integration products and division of a BackOffice Associates, LLC, says it is shipping a new version of its change data capture and replication product that supports multiple databases as well as support for Netezza data warehouse appliance. The new product, DBMoto 7, also delivers data verification, enhanced administrative security options, and log-based replication for IBM DB2 LUW.
Oracle Coherence, the latest version of Oracle's distributed in-memory data grid product, became available yesterday. Oracle Coherence 3.6 is a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g, and, along with Oracle WebLogic Server as well, is a critical component of application grid and private cloud deployments.
The Data Warehousing Institute will present the TDWI World Conference 2010 with a focus on creating an Agile BI environment. The conference will take place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego Hotel, August 15-20, 2010. "Agile is becoming very hot in the business intelligence industry and in data warehousing.
