Cologix, Inc., North America's network-neutral interconnection and hyperscale edge data center company, announced its next investment in the Columbus Region with a more than $150 million expansion to its existing campus, pending local approvals. The company plans to create an additional 15 jobs in the Region, once construction is complete. The expansion at its existing Worthington Woods Boulevard campus will include a newly built data center, adding 36MW of power to its total capacity in the Region that enables Cologix to meet the surge in demand for cloud connectivity.
VMware Inc., provider of multi-cloud services for all apps, and IBM, global hybrid cloud and AI, and business services provider, are announcing an expansion of their 20-plus year partnership with the aims of aiding global customers and partners modernize mission-critical workloads and accelerate time to value in hybrid cloud environments, according to the companies. The partnership expansion takes shape in IBM Consulting as a VMware GSI partner, as well as in jointly engineered solutions and development to add to their previous jointly developed technologies such as data encryption in motion and in use. With relevance spanning multiple industries such as financial services, healthcare, and the public sector, the ecosystem partnership invites solutions with reduced cost, complexity, and risk for cloud migration of mission-critical workloads.
IBM is launching a subscription model for IBM i, enabling clients to get their entire IT solution as-a-service for less than $55 per user per month at the IBM i P05 license level. The IBM i System Subscription is designed to make planning easier for small and midsize clients. With consistency in annual payments over the term of the subscription, IT infrastructure planning becomes a lot simpler.
NVIDIA is offering a new data center solution with Dell Technologies that is designed for the era of AI, bringing AI training, AI inference, data processing, data science, and zero-trust security capabilities to enterprises worldwide. The solution combines Dell PowerEdge servers with NVIDIA BlueField DPUs, NVIDIA GPUs, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, and is optimized for VMware vSphere 8 enterprise workload platform.
