Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., announced the next generation of its Storage Virtualization Operating System, SVOS 7.0, featuring enhanced Quality of Service, new adaptive data reduction and support for all-flash cloud tiering. It will be available on all Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) arrays.
IBM has introduced updates to its DB2 database management system, intended to help lower operating costs while bringing together transactions and analytics in the same database to increase the speed of real-time data analysis.
