CA Technologies today announced CA Automation Suite, a package of new and enhanced products and solutions that offers dynamic deployment and elastic scaling of IT infrastructure and services by automating, orchestrating, integrating and standardizing the provisioning and management of physical, virtual and cloud resources.
Compuware Corporation has announced a software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based application performance management (APM) solution that provides visibility from what it calls the "first mile" (the data center) to the "last mile" (the end user). Compuware's Gomez First Mile, together with Gomez outside-in monitoring, is intended to enable organizations whose businesses depend on web applications to quickly assess the business impact of a problem.
IBM expanded its CloudBurst family of pre-integrated cloud service delivery platforms with a POWER7-based hardware appliance, as well as separately offering the software to run on currently installed IBM and non-IBM systems.
OpenTech Systems, Inc., a provider of tape copying, migration and disaster recovery solutions for IBM z/OS-centric data centers, announced a new release of its flagship tape copy product that includes object access method (OAM) support, along with the ability allocate data to underutilized tapes.
IBM and Oracle announced they will collaborate to enable developers and customers to build and innovate based on existing Java investments and the OpenJDK reference implementation. The companies intend to collaborate in the OpenJDK project in developing the leading open source Java environment.

The new release of PKZIP and SecureZIP products for Linux on the System z operating platform supports file management and data compression on mainframes.
UC4 Software, a provider of service automation and IT process optimization solutions, expanded its offerings for SAP customers with a new integration of UC4 software with SAP Financial Closing cockpit, and extensions to its UC4 Automated System Copy for SAP solution, to help customers maximize their investments in SAP applications.
