Its advanced data security solutions integrate with the leading cloud service provider platforms from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Microsoft and Salesforce, allowing users to establish strong safeguards around their sensitive data and applications in the cloud, satisfying compliance requirements and giving them greater control and flexibility.
IBM announced solutions that connect mainframes to IBM's DS8880 family of primary all-flash storage systems, provide data encryption to ensure transactional, business intelligence and machine learning workloads used for businesses running IBM Z environments are protected if data is lost or compromised. IBM's DS8880 all flash helps clients deliver hybrid cloud environments by adding additional clouds supported.
IBM unveiled IBM Z, the next generation of the world's most powerful transaction system, capable of running more than 12 billion encrypted transactions per day. The new system also introduces a breakthrough encryption engine that, for the first time, makes it possible to pervasively encrypt data associated with any application, cloud service or database all the time.
IBM reported revenue from continuing operations of $19.3 billion, as well as strategic imperatives revenue - including cloud and mobile technologies - of $34.1 billion over the trailing 12 months, up 11%. Overall revenue for the first half was up 8%, and up 5% for the second quarter.
