Rocket Software has released a 2022 survey report titled "The State of the Mainframe." The report, which is based on a survey of over 500 U.S. IT professionals in firms using mainframes focused on their priorities, challenges, and plans for leveraging their mainframes going forward, reveals that the mainframe continues to be critical for businesses today.

Adaptigent has announced the launch of its newest product, Intelligent Caching. According to the company, the Intelligent Caching engine is a distributed, in-memory data cache designed to reduce mainframe integration load and costs, while reducing API response times up to 50X for mission-critical data and transaction calls.

IBM has announced new solutions with IT management software company, Flexera, and IBM Turbonomic Application Resource Management (ARM) to help organizations use automation to streamline IT asset management. IBM says the new solutions are aimed at helping businesses lower costs and automate the increasingly complex tasks of software license compliance and optimization.

IBM announced it has filed suit against LzLabs, and alleges that the Switzerland-based company has violated IBM's intellectual property rights by infringing upon company patents protecting various aspects of IBM's high-performance mainframe systems.


Think About It

Standard SQL defines four isolation levels that can be set using the SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL statement: Serializable, Repeatable Read, Read Committed, and Read Uncommitted. Although all of the popular relational DBMSs support isolation level, the exact naming and implementation will vary.
