CA today announced new and updated Enterprise IT Management (EITM) products designed to help CIOs achieve "Lean IT" by reducing waste, increasing productivity and improving the customer experience. "Lean IT is a new focus for CA," David Hurwitz, vice president of solutions marketing at CA, tells 5 Minute Briefing. "CA has been talking about and making available a variety of solutions for EITM over the last several years. Lean IT really expresses the purpose and the goal of what you can do with EITM solutions," Hurwitz explains.
EnterpriseDB, an open source database vendor, announced that IBM has licensed its technology to make it easier to deploy applications on DB2 9.7, the upcoming release of IBM's enterprise relational database. The solution is intended to make it easier to migrate applications from Oracle environments into open source or DB2 environments.
