It has just been announced that the University of Canberra, a public university that is located in Bruce, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, is launching a 3-year “Bachelor of Information and Mainframe Technology” program for aspiring computing professionals, with the incentive they can graduate debt-free, with virtually guaranteed employment. Both SHARE and IBM have been active in North America with support for mainframe courses and skills updates, and with demand growing, incentives for professionals are rising. Seasoned mainframe professionals will be finding their stock rising in organizations as well.
