Linux Drives Even Deeper into the Enterprise

Linux may not be grabbing the headlines as much as it did a few years ago, but the open source system is gaining more power in the enterprise, driven by cloud and big data. A survey out of the non-profit Linux Foundation reveals that eight out of 10 respondents are expanding their Linux implementations. Seven out of 10 respondents, say they are choosing Linux to support big data coming into their enterprises. As IT environments increasingly come under pressure to scale, Linux offers a cost-effective and flexible platform to expand.
