Can Data Centers Survive Electromagnetic Pulse?
If an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) explosion were to take place, it can be assumed that everything in its range—including data centers—would cease functioning. However, some data center vendors say it is possible to keep a data center running after an EMP event. Lifeline Data Centers recently announced it has obtained FedRAMP-Ready Status with an EMP shield. The vendor says it is the first privately-held data center to have an EMP shield.
