Greater insight into market trends and changes is undoubtedly the most valuable asset to result from IOUG members' participation in IOUG ResearchWire studies. However, participants in each survey are also entered into a drawing for a prize as an additional way of showing appreciation for their time and attention.
Recently, the IOUG fielded a study, "Managing the Rapid Rise in Database Growth," to review database growth issues within enterprises. With input from 445 IOUG member respondents from within the IOUG community, the survey was conducted by Unisphere Research, a division of Information Today, Inc., in cooperation with Oracle.
The winner of the drawing for a 16GB iPad 2 was Troy Ligon of The Nielsen Company.
Participation in IOUG surveys is always anonymous and drawing winners' names are only disclosed after they are contacted through the email address they have provided and have given their permission.
And, while there can only be one person selected to receive a prize in each survey's drawing, all members win because they benefit from the up-to-date industry knowledge gained by research conducted among peer organizations.
IOUG ResearchWire reports are available from the IOUG website. IOUG members can log in to download full reports. One-page executive summaries of the research reports are also publicly available.
