Ari Kaplan, former Chicago Cubs Statistics Manager and past IOUG President, will speak Thursday, April 11 on Sports Analytics in Action at the IOUG closing session. His presentation will discuss how professional sports teams and players use analytics, big data, and visualization in the Major Leagues. There are many parallels to the business world on approaching and solving challenges and finding meaning in seemingly endless amounts of information. Through his 23 years of experience in over half of all MLB organizations and major media outlets, he will discuss the changes that took place and where analytics will continue to innovate in the future.
