As IT leaders look to transform mainframe culture, developing open and uniform industry standards have become increasingly necessary, especially for z/OS software products. At SHARE San Jose 2017, John Eells of IBM Corporation introduced IBM’s new installation strategy for z/OS and provided a brief history of IBM software packaging, its current state and a glimpse of where it is headed for the future. Eells was also joined by Sam Knutson and Keith Sisson of Compuware, Paul Spicer of BMC Software. Inc. and Sujay Soloman of CA Technologies in a discussion on how z/OS Independent Software Vendors are supporting the new strategy.
