illuminate Solutions has announced the release of version 4.0 of its iLuminate correlation database technology. New iLuminate 4.0 features include a 64-bit architecture that allows for nearly unlimited scalability and faster query performance, enhanced multithreading that enables a larger number of users to have simultaneous database access, a web services architecture that allows for managed services and cloud deployments, LDAP/Active Directory-based user and privileges management that plugs into customers' existing production environments, and public APIs (Java, .Net, C++) that enable easy development of custom analytic applications.
iLuminate 4.0 automatically designs and builds data warehouses and provides fast time-to-analytics, which is the time it takes to design, build, integrate, and deliver raw data in a usable form for analysis and exploration With iLuminate 4.0, customers can deploy a completely optimized, 100 percent flexible data warehouse or data mart of nearly any size in one-tenth the total time and cost-or less. There is no need for physical database design or optimization techniques-the technology creates a data-generated data model on the fly while it's loading data.
"With the iLuminate correlation database engine, all data values are stored only once and the engine can see where every value is used as though it were a single set of data. This enables a broader range of ad hoc and exploratory queries and performs semantic-base searches of the data," Joe Foley, chief technology officer for illuminate, tells 5 Minute Briefing. And, notes Kristen Chapman, chief marketing and alliances officer, "because the iLuminate engine is data model-independent, users are not restricted to a specific data model created by IT and have flexibility to analyze data in a greater variety of ways."
iLuminate 4.0 also provides fast time-to-answer, which is the time it takes from the moment a user begins to analyze an issue to the time the user has the answer needed to make a decision. With iLuminate 4.0.users can do train-of-thought analysis from the moment they determine a need until they get the answer. All data is indexed for user access and gives them new query types to explore data without hitting the limits of structures that require IT intervention in order for the analysis to continue.
