Unstructured data now forms the large majority all data, making it increasingly important for companies to see the relationships in data, text, video and audio across different and rapidly changing technology types and languages, said Dan Burke, vice president of HP Autonomy in his keynote at Data Summit.
According to Burke, 90% of digital content created in 2015 will be unstructured, 64% of companies will make a significant IT investment in big data in the next 2 years, only 30% of users have access to BI tools, presenting a big opportunity to reach non-traditional users of analytics, and 86% of organizations cannot deliver the right information at the right time to support enterprise outcomes.
