WFT Cloud, an enterprise-class cloud services provider, is extending its solution portfolio to offer customers virtualized instances of the SAP HANA platform for use in production landscapes.
Wharfedale Technologies Inc. (WFT) is a technology consulting firm specializing in infrastructure integrations and services for SAP solutions, as well as private/public/hybrid cloud solutions.
“As one of the first companies to be SAP-certified as a provider of cloud services for SAP solutions, we have continued to be in the forefront of delivering the benefits of virtualization and the cloud to our customers,” said Mahesh Reddy, CTO of Wharfedale Technologies. “WFT Cloud has virtualized multiple non-production landscapes running SAP HANA. We are now able to deliver value to customers by virtualizing SAP HANA in production landscapes.”
WFT Cloud’s solution portfolio for SAP HANA enables companies to migrate their existing implementations of the SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) application to run on SAP HANA in a private cloud managed by WFT Cloud. This newly added service is in response to SAP and VMware’s recent announcement about SAP HANA for Production Use on VMware vSphere 5.5. The management services, which are also a part of WFT Cloud’s portfolio, provide 24x7 support for a customer’s production and non-production environments running SAP HANA.
According to WFT, by combining virtualization support for HANA for production landscapes with the SAP HANA tailored data center integration, companies can have greater flexibility because it allows them an alternative to the physical appliance model. The company contends that the SAP HANA tailored data center integration model can help reduce CapEx and OpEx by reusing existing hardware as well as taking advantage of current operational management processes.
