Versant Corporation, a provider of data management software, announced the re-launch of their database developer community, now live on their website. The community is an online portal to help developers apply Versant's NoSQL database technologies, and includes live forums and videos, webcasts, samples and documentation for managing complex object and big data solutions.
The community builds on Versant's developer site, and incorporates the breadth of the vendor's product line. "We call it a re-launch for two reasons," German Viscuso, developer relations manager for Versant, tells 5 Minute Briefing. "We reworked the db4o community site to now include all Versant products and be more aligned to the Versant brand. We also moved the users and threads formerly available on versant.com/developer to this new site. It's the one stop site for the Versant developer community."
The new community includes the Versant Most Valued Professional (MVP) program, offering exclusive access to select product previews and resources as well as discounts on Versant training sessions and events. Another interactive community feature will be the "ask-me-anything" sessions, offering developers opportunities to interact with industry influencers to overcome obstacles, offer tips, share experiences and explore new opportunities. The online community assumes all the functions of a typical software user group, Viscuso says. "The community at large is our user group and their place is the new site." The new site also offers developers a direct line for software recommendations or innovations.
Registration is free and includes access to software downloads, resources, blogs, forums, Versant products, documentation, RSS feeds and db4o source and issue tracking.
