Venafi, the inventor of machine identity management, is introducing Venafi Athena, the new underpinning AI technology for the Venafi Control Plane—made possible only by Venafi's modern software-as-a-service architecture built on decades of in-depth expertise and innovation.
Venafi Athena combines the powers of machine learning, large language models, and Venafi’s industry-leading data capabilities to make machine identity management easier and faster for security and platform teams, according to the company.
Venafi Athena runs across the entire Venafi Control Plane and its integrated ecosystem, featuring three core generative AI and machine learning capabilities:
- Venafi Athena for security teams – Venafi’s new AI- and machine learning-powered technology helps them make more intelligent, informed machine identity management decisions by identifying trends and providing suggestions through an easy-to-use chat interface across the Venafi Control Plane. As a result, they can more easily and intuitively get started, identify improvements, and perform complex tasks. This capability is now available in the Venafi Control Plane with the September 2023 update.
- Venafi Athena for Developers – Venafi Athena leverages generative AI to make it easy for platform and developer teams to automate machine identity operations by generating and suggesting complete code recipes. The AI engine is trained across Venafi’s integrated ecosystem, multiple development languages including Go, Python and PowerShell, as well as industry-standard orchestration solutions including the Red Hat certified Ansible Collection for Venafi and official HashiCorp Terraform Provider for Venafi. This will be available on Dev Central, Venafi’s new developer experience for the Venafi Control Plane, in 2024.
- Venafi Athena for the Community – Venafi now offers an experimental laboratory that gives developers early access to innovative generative AI capabilities and machine identity data for use in new feature development, machine learning, large language model development, and more. It includes a new project that redefines reporting and answers for machine identity management using generative AI and Venafi’s software-as-service data capabilities. This is available today with code examples and data with pre-identified features for machine learning on Hugging Face.
