Vaultree, a leader in advanced data encryption, is debuting Vaultree Encrypted Numbers (VENum), as well as announcing its open source availability. The VENum stack—which includes Vaultree Encrypted Numpy (VENumpy) and VENum Machine Learning (VENumML)—enables developers to build and deploy ML models on encrypted data without compromising data privacy.
The VENum stack is a quantum-resilient technology designed to democratize secure ML deployments that handle sensitive data—particularly data that follows Full Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) schemes, a method of encoding plaintext. This is especially relevant for highly regulated industries like healthcare or finance, where VENum allows enterprises to tap into the value of sensitive data while meeting stringent privacy requirements.
“Our breakthrough framework gives industries—especially those that manage sensitive data, like finance and healthcare—the capability to analyze data securely. By open-sourcing VENumML, we are expanding the possibilities of secure AI for all developers, encouraging greater innovation and engagement,” said Ryan Lasmaili, co-founder and CEO, Vaultree. “VENum makes encrypted ML a workable and scalable option for privacy-preserving intelligence and sets a new standard for secure data enablement.”
VENumML, a Python library powered by Vaultree’s encryption scheme, delivers built-in, high-speed models for a variety of applications, democratizing encrypted ML functionality. VENumML supports a range of data formats—including images, tabular data, unstructured, graphs, and time series—to support ML tasks on FHE data without impacting performance. Paired with VENumML, VENumpy is an internal FHE library that ensures that ML operations are both secure and scalable.
Some additional capabilities of VENum include:
- Secure incorporation of sensitive data to drive innovation
- Encrypted sensitive file search and ranking
- Federated learning for better modeling and secure encrypted data sharing
- A library of powerful tools for building and deploying ML models on encrypted data
- An engaging, transparent open source community designed around innovation and trust
