IT environments are exploding. There is more data than ever before, in more places than ever before. Unfortunately, managing backup and recovery with legacy tools has proven complex and often lacks the visibility and security needed for IT teams to keep pace with their business.
This explosion of data has only added to the need for a modern solution that simplifies protection and provides IT teams with the flexibility and security they need to manage their data from a single platform.
DBTA held a webinar with Frank Schwaak, senior solution architect, Oracle/SAP, at Rubrik, and Vigyan Jain, data management solutions architect, Asia Pacific and Japan, at Rubrik, recently discussed the importance of unifying backup and recovery with SaaS and what it means for the business.
SaaS applications are among the easiest to adopt and deploy, Schwaak and Jain explained. It has become a critical part of everyday business. A unified SaaS platform is often under a single pane of glass, provides data governance, data assurance and security, and automation.
According to Flexera, “71% of organizations are deploying SaaS applications.”
The ideal SaaS solution should provide complete data availability, security, compliance, and governance on a single platform for on-premises and cloud, Schwaak and Jain said.
Rubrik offers the Zero Trust Data Management platform. It provides centralized hybrid cloud management with global data policy and management across enterprise applications and clouds. It offers SaaS protection with cloud-native protection that scales in-line with O365 environments, and protected data never leaves customer’s Azure subscription.
The platform also includes DR orchestration for failover/failback, testing, and migration. It also provides minute-level RTOs and automates cloud installation.
The platform allows users to perform sensitive data discovery with data classification that aligns with data privacy regulations with zero additional infrastructure.
