Tributary Systems, a data protection solutions provider, has signed an agreement with Sirius Computer Solutions, an IT infrastructure vendor, to sell its solutions across a range of IBM platforms. Sirius will distribute Tributary's Storage Director data protection solution for IBM System z mainframes and IBM Power Systems running IBM i, AIX and Linux.
The risks to data are rising the the growth of big data, says Shawn Sabanayagam, CEO of Tributary. Enabling Storage Director across IBM platforms will help these sites “streamline the management of long-term storage and makes it more cost effective. Storage Director is being used by many data-intensive enterprises where lost data is unthinkable."
Storage Director is a backup storage virtualization and consolidation solution that can be deployed within heterogeneous data centers. The solution is designed for fault-tolerant, high availability computing environments, the vendor says.
