TimeXtender, a provider of BI software and services based in Denmark, is expanding its presence in North America. According to the vendor, its TimeXtender Data Warehousing Automation platform is focused on simplifying the data warehouse process and minimizing the time spent on turning complex data into valuable information.
Based on the Microsoft stack, its most recent release, TX2014 release 2, contains components to build a data warehouse solution out of the box, and going beyond that, offers add-on features and application adapters enable users to tailor their data warehouse to their needs. TimeXtender enables users to build OLAP cubes and Qlikview models and provides a user-friendly ingterface for building the data warehouse, while offering support for a range of loading strategies.
“Data warehouses have been around for years but there are a number of issues and typically, the biggest issue is actually extracting the data out and cleansing it and putting it into a format so that it can then be used with a standard reporting tool,” said Brian Hoare, in sales and marketing in TimeXtender’s Redmond, Washington offices. “It can be a data warehouse, but it can also be any repository; it doesn’t matter what platform it is on, or what environment it is in, we seem to be able to extract data from any sort and then make it available so that it can be put into reporting and it can be used to help drive the business.”
The company which is 10 years old has approximately 2.5 thousand customers worldwide in more than 60 countries, he said. Having started in North America in consulting, the company has now moved on to the next stage, he said, “where we are starting to sell product directly to customers and prospects. We believe there is a huge market here much like there is in Europe.”
