As part of its efforts to enable hands-on learning experiences with Linux, open source, and mainframes, the Open Mainframe Project has announced the launch of the 2022 Summer Mentorships, which kick off in June and go through August. The announcement was made in a blog post on the Open Mainframe Project website.
According to the Open Mainframe Project, of which IBM, SHARE, and other leading organizations are members, there are 11 mentorships, is providing opportunities to work with the ADE (Auto Detection Engine), COBOL Programming Course, GenevaERS, Mainframe Open Education, Software Discovery Tool, and Zowe projects. Additionally, there are four member-focused mentorships for IBM and Vicom Infinity.
The Open Mainframe Project’s mentorship program is one of the organization’s oldest initiatives. Since its launch, the program has helped more than 60 students gain experience in a hands-on learning experience.
Open Mainframe says interested mentees should go the LFX Mentorship page to directly apply by May 18.
