Data protection and management vendor Quantum Corp. has announced that Teradata, an analytic data solutions company, will offer Quantum’s Scalar tape libraries and Scalar Key Manager encryption software standard in its enterprise data protection solution. Quantum’s Scalar tape libraries feature iLayer management software and are designed for a broad range of data protection and archive environments.
“Our software provides advanced, proactive diagnostics capabilities so the libraries have the ability to monitor themselves and predict failures before they occur. iLayer provides advanced management capabilities, making it easier to set up, configure, and perform the ongoing management of tape libraries,” Eric Bassier, Quantum’s director of product marketing for the data protection group, explains to 5 Minute Briefing.
Quantum’s Scalar tape libraries maintain advanced reporting capabilities which enable customers to identify issues in their backup environment before they cause a disruption. The Scalar Key Manager enables Quantum tape automation products to provide reliable encryption that can be managed and scaled.
