Business intelligence software vendor Tableau has announced that direct access to the MapR Distribution for Apache Hadoop for big data analytics is included in Tableau 7.0.7. This enables customers to instantly construct reports, data visualizations and dashboards without any programming or coding. The 7.0.7 update also includes support for Tableau’s Desktop and Server products in Japanese.
With native connection to MapR’s open distribution for Apache Hadoop, Tableau and MapR deliver rapid and reliable access to big data and the ability to analyze it in real time. “It’s a native connection. Customers will be able to query both live the MapR system through Hadoop Hive as well as extract the data if they want to increase the performance of the system,” Francois Ajenstat, Tableau’s director of product management, tells 5 Minute Briefing.
Tableau has also expanded its language support by adding Japanese in the update, after previously adding support for Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese earlier this year. There are also French and German versions available.
