Syncsort, a provider of big data integration solutions, has announced the availability of its Spring ’13 release, featuring two new Hadoop offerings and enhancements to DMX that provide a feature rich and easy-to-use ETL solution. With the rise of big data, organizations are looking to Hadoop to process more data in less time and for less money, but it is not yet a complete ETL solution.
The Syncsort Spring ’13 release features two new offerings for Hadoop: DMX-h ETL Edition and DMX-h Sort Edition. These solutions provide full functionality required to deliver enterprise ETL capabilities, with greater ease-of-use and maximum node performance. “We are attacking the problem from three key dimensions. First, we are improving ETL by leveraging Hadoop. Second, we complement Hadoop with greater ease of use and functionality. Additionally, performance and connectivity enhancements to DMX expand usage by end users and partners.
New DMX-h solutions feature the only ETL engine that runs natively within MapReduce for maximum node performance. “You can develop and test on Windows using drag and drop and then deploy those jobs within Hadoop, and that is huge for many of our customers and prospects,” Lopez explains. Customers also benefit from “use case accelerators,” a library of pre-built templates to help developers with Hadoop ETL implementations, as well as connectivity that provides access to and delivery of all data, including from the mainframe. “What we offer to our customers is having all this connectivity available through one tool without the need to write any code,” Lopez adds. This helps drive results in less time and with lower costs than competing solutions.
