StorMagic, solving the world's edge data problems, is announcing that StorMagic SvHCI—the company’s full-stack HCI (hyperconverged infrastructure) software solution—has been tested and validated with three Supermicro IoT SuperServers. This validation assures that SvHCI can be deployed and configured on servers that match customer’s unique needs, from edge to IoT and traditional rack servers.
StorMagic SvHCI is designed for the enterprise edge, ROBOs, and SMBs, combining the virtualized storage capabilities of SvSAN with a StorMagic hypervisor, virtualized networking, and management components, explained the company. Offering HCI that is easy to use, reliable, and with the lowest total cost of ownership, SvHCI is purpose-built with proven technology.
The Supermicro IoT SuperServers are engineered to support a range of edge applications, such as multi-access, enterprise, 5G, and more. These servers are designed to handle extreme in-memory computing with maximum configurability and scalability—attributes that are crucial for edge use cases.
With StorMagic SvHCI now tested and validated on Supermicro IoT SuperServers, customers are afforded the ability to select the servers that best fit their needs without sacrificing on HCI efficiency, reliability, or cost.
"The SvHCI software stack was designed specifically for edge use cases and these environments need the fast, reliable, and affordable servers that SuperMicro is known for," said Bruce Kornfeld, chief product officer, StorMagic. "StorMagic is seeing [a] massive exodus from VMware in the industry which is fueling the demand for SvHCI and the expansion of our hardware compatibility list with Supermicro will help us deliver what customers want."
The following servers were validated by StorMagic:
- SYS-220HE-FTNR - 2U Hyper with 6 NVMe/SATA bays
- SYS-210SE-31A - SuperEdge 2U3-Node UP front I/O short-depth server
- SYS-110D-20C - 20-Core, 600W -48 Vdc redundant PWS, 1U edge platform
