StreamNative, the cloud-native data streaming company founded by the original creators of Apache Pulsar, is unveiling a managed Apache Flink Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) service, designed to merge the powers of both Flink and StreamNative for the latter’s customer base. This product offering—powered by Ververica, the original creators of Apache Flink—serves to inject more simplicity into the process of deploying real-time applications in the cloud, according to StreamNative.
Soon to be available in private preview, StreamNative’s Apache Flink BYOC offering centralizes and integrates Flink's advanced stream processing capabilities and StreamNative's Pulsar-based streaming data storage layer within a single Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). This not only ensures data sovereignty throughout the data processing lifecycle but also eases stream processing implementation—thereby granting greater accessibility to data streaming—and increases cost efficiency, according to StreamNative.
"Apache Pulsar provides the fundamental real-time data serving and storage ability while Apache Flink provides the critical computing ability for both streaming and batch use cases. Together, these technologies enable powerful applications such as real-time fraud detection in financial services, dynamic inventory management in retail, and predictive maintenance in manufacturing,” said Sijie Guo, CEO and co-founder of StreamNative. “This offering is a major step forward in StreamNative's mission to make data streaming accessible, affordable, and reliable for all organizations.”
This solution aims to solve the challenges of integration between individual cloud platforms—which often introduces complexities in setup and dramatic increases in cloud costs. Benefitting from StreamNative’s Ursa Engine and Ververica’s VERA engine, this product delivers the best Flink performance on the market while offering simple, powerful, secure, and cost-efficient stream processing, according to the companies.
"We are thrilled to partner with StreamNative to bring Apache Flink's powerful stream processing capabilities to their cloud platform,” said Alexander Walden, CEO at Ververica. “By combining Ververica's deep Flink expertise with StreamNative's innovative Pulsar-based infrastructure, we're helping companies build applications that perform even faster and at a lower total cost of ownership than the options available until this point, and all of it with unprecedented ease and efficiency. This partnership represents a significant step forward in making advanced stream processing accessible and manageable for businesses of all shapes and sizes."
The managed Flink BYOC solution will be available within StreamNative Cloud, powered by the VERA engine and supported by Ververica.
