SolarWinds, a provider of IT management software, is releasing SolarWinds Network Insight for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), Cisco’s next-generation firewall technology.
SolarWinds Network Insight for Cisco ASA provides comprehensive monitoring that provides IT professionals with complete visibility—well beyond hardware health and performance—and management of access control lists (ACLs) within their Cisco ASA environments.
SolarWinds Network Insight for Cisco ASA is available in the latest versions of SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor and SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager, both part of the SolarWinds Orion Platform.
SolarWinds Network Insight for Cisco ASA provides network administrators with complete visibility into, and reporting, and alerting for VPN tunnel visibility (LAN-to-LAN), high availability and failover status, hardware status, interface monitoring with critical configuration data such as security level, and connection count.
The platform allows users to filter, search, and view ACLs with the firewall rule browser; show relationships with ACLs, context, and objects; snapshot, version, compare, and backup ACL configs; and analyze ACL configs and highlight shadowed, redundant and unused rules.
In addition to SolarWinds Network Insight for Cisco ASA, SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor and Network Configuration Manager also include support for F5 BIG-IP environments with SolarWinds Network Insight for F5® BIG-IP and support for additional appliances is expected in future releases.
Other improvements within the SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor include PerfStack Improvements such as real-time polling for key metrics and support for additional metrics such as Syslog, UnDP, SNMP Traps, and more; and support for high availability multi-subnet deployments and disaster recovery.
