ScaleGrid, a database-as-a-service provider, has announced support for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis on DigitalOcean, in addition to current DigitalOcean support for MongoDB.
ScaleGrid provides a fully managed DBaaS solution used by thousands of developers, startups, and enterprise customers, including UPS, Polaris, and Adobe. The ScaleGrid platform now supports MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, and PostgreSQL on both public and private clouds, including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, DigitalOcean, and VMware.
DigitalOcean is a cloud infrastructure provider headquartered in New York City with data centers worldwide.
According to ScaleGrid, the MySQL and PostgreSQL relational databases and Redis key-value databases are a natural fit for the developer market that has gravitated toward DigitalOcean since its launch 9 years ago in 2011.
ScaleGrid also offers capabilities such as full super-user access, custom configurations, and advanced slow query analysis and monitoring capabilities through its platform.
"We've seen a significant uptick in developers and teams looking to move their workloads to DigitalOcean over the past few months," said Dharshan Rangegowda, ScaleGrid founder and CEO. "In order to meet this increased demand, we are excited to offer our full-featured DBaaS on DigitalOcean—our platform is architected from the ground up to leverage high performance SSD disks providing considerable performance advantages over existing platforms for the same price."
