SQream, a leading accelerated data processing platform, is debuting its native Snowflake connector which brings its cloud data solution, SQream Blue, to the Snowflake environment. With this connector, SQream delivers the best of its GPU parallelizing solution to Snowflake’s data warehouse platform, eliminating the need for intermediate data transfers or complex ETL processes.
This announcement is situated in the context of SQream Blue’s latest performance benchmark, which, as determined by the Transaction Processing Performance Council (TPC), SQream Blue dramatically outperformed Snowflake and its X-Large Virtual Warehouse. SQream Blue was able to handle 30 TB of data 2x faster and at half of the cost, with some tasks exceeding this benchmark at a 5x performance improvement.
With the launch of SQream’s native connector for Snowflake, users benefit from dramatic cost-performance savings driven by offloading data loads to SQream Blue without exporting data or migrating information from existing Snowflake workflows, according to the company. The connector establishes a direct and optimized connection between SQream Blue and Snowflake via the Snowflake library, improving both query performance and reducing operations overhead.
