SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux version 9.9.0 Delivers Enhanced DR/HA

SIOS Technology Corp., a leading provider of application high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, is debuting SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux version 9.9.0, which continues to deliver a robust HA/DR solution for business-critical applications and databases. Version 9.9.0 offers a variety of new DR advancements, including synchronous and asynchronous data mirroring, intelligent failover mechanisms, enhanced security management, and more.

SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux version 9.9.0 recognizes that for today’s enterprise applications and databases, HA/DR plays a crucial role in ensuring business operation in the event of failure. As a result, IT administrators are left with a significant pressure to maintain continuous uptime and prevent data loss, all while battling complex infrastructures and a constantly evolving security threat landscape, according to SIOS.

Acknowledging these challenges, "our latest release offers the flexibility to tailor HA replication strategies to meet specific needs while automating failover and ensuring reliable restoration processes," said Masahiro Arai, COO of SIOS Technology. "By eliminating complex manual steps, we ensure faster recovery times and maintain data consistency across all environments, saving both time and reducing the potential for human error."

SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux version 9.9.0’s advanced DR protection now features fully automated failover—without the need for time-consuming data resynchronization—to DR nodes across different AWS regions or availability zones via WAN. Additionally, enterprises are offered the flexibility necessary to create both synchronous and asynchronous replication for geographically separated DR sites.

This release also debuts intelligent failover for added reliability, where, in a three-node cluster, SIOS automatically checks the status of secondary and tertiary nodes. This ensures that, if necessary, failover is executed seamlessly to the tertiary node. Intelligent failover features fast, efficient failover to maintain system integrity, as well as added redundancy protection to eliminate single points of failure.

SIOS’s upgraded security management centers enhanced security, maintainability, and access control. IT admins are now able to grant elevated permissions to users without compromising security via personalized access credentials. This generates better traceability on SAP/HANA-related operations, ultimately empowering streamlined reviews from a security perspective, according to SIOS.

The SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux version 9.9.0 release expands its language support, with SIOS LifeKeeper Web Management Console now supporting German and Korean—joining existing support for Japanese and English. Additionally, Single Server Protection can now be managed through the updated Web Management Console.

Finally, SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux version 9.9.0 features additional Linux OS support for Alma Linux and Amazon Linux 2023.
