Red Gate has launched Data Compare for Oracle, a new tool that compares database table contents, highlights differences, generates SQL scripts to match the tables up, and automatically aligns them if desired.
With Data Compare, deployment is done automatically in minutes, says Tom Harris, head of Red Gate's Oracle tools division. "After making database changes, the last thing you want is to spend hours deploying them."
Although the tool is available by itself, Oracle developers looking for a smoother way to deploy entire databases can pick it up as part of Red Gate's Deployment Suite for Oracle, which combines Data Compare with a sibling product, Schema Compare for Oracle.
Schema Compare provides similar functionality for database structure, so together the pair offer complete database synchronization in one seamless process.
The tools handle the entire deployment process in a few clicks, according to Harris. And because usability has been Red Gate's concern throughout, it takes just seconds to get going, he adds.
