Polyhedra Network (Polyhedra), the team pioneering the next generation of secure and scalable zero-knowledge (ZK) proof infrastructure, announced that Proof Cloud has launched in an open beta to meet the growing demand for efficient, fast, and cost-effective ZK-proof technology.
Proof Cloud was created in collaboration with Google Cloud and will be utilized by Polygon, Linea, and Lita at launch.
“The goal of Proof Cloud is to make zero-knowledge proofs more accessible to all, in both web2 and web3, and we’re excited to work with teams like Google Cloud, Polygon, Linea, and Lita to make this possible,” said Eric Vreeland, chief strategy officer at Polyhedra Network. “Through Proof Arena, developers will be able to maximize the performance of their ZK-proofs and use the prover that is best suited for their needs. By using the Proof Cloud ZK-as-a-service platform, developers can leverage the fastest and most efficient ZK provers, reducing their computational costs by up to 90%.”
Proof Cloud includes the Proof Arena platform, a benchmarking tool designed to increase the transparency and capabilities of ZK-proof technology.
Proof Arena allows ZK developers to easily execute prover benchmarks and test the performance of the specific prover architecture.
According to the company, Proof Arena is the first system for fair and transparent ZK prover benchmarking, and it will be exclusively available to all Proof Cloud users
Proof Arena will allow ZK-proof system creators to compare their systems against others in a clear and scientific manner while ensuring that all controllable variables are held constant.
The platform enables developers to submit provers, run benchmarks, view comparative results alongside other proof systems, and contribute new benchmarking challenges. Through unbiased testing, developers can determine how their algorithms compare to the others in Proof Cloud and ultimately choose the one that is the best fit for their needs.
“Zero-knowledge technology continues to progress at a lightning-fast pace. Tools like Polyhedra’s Proof Cloud are critical to lowering the barrier to entry for building with ZK and add much-needed transparency to the space,” said Sandeep Nailwal, Polygon Labs co-founder. “We are excited to make Polygon's industry-leading proving technology available for all developers in Proof Cloud, bringing costs down even further.”
With Proof Arena, developers can generate benchmarks for Polyhedra’s Expander ZK-proof system, Polygon’s Plonky3, StarkWare’s Stwo, and Linea’s Gnark. The team plans to support all open source proof systems and will provide benchmarks for frequent ZK tasks like Keccak and Poseidon hash verification run on a variety of machine configurations, according to the vendor.
