Oracle has introduced Oracle GoldenGate 11g and Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g, new releases of the two products that form the foundation of Oracle's data integration product line. The new products, part of the Oracle Fusion Middleware product family, offer tighter integration with Oracle applications and technologies, support for additional heterogeneous systems, and improved performance.
Oracle GoldenGate 11g delivers real-time data integration and continuous availability for mission-critical systems through its low-impact, low-latency data acquisition, distribution and delivery capabilities, and Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g provides loading and transformation of data into a data warehouse environment through its high-performance extract, load and transform (E-LT) technology.
The new releases demonstrate Oracle's commitment to leading in this market of heterogeneous data integration, delivering for customers "real-time data integration for the enterprise with a very fast time to value," Miranda Nash, vice president of product management, Oracle Data Integration, tells 5 Minute Briefing. The requirements posed by global competition and continuous uptime are driving companies to need faster decision-making. "That is really what we get with real time data integration."
Delivering integration with Oracle applications and Oracle technologies, Oracle GoldenGate 11g is certified for operational reporting solutions on Oracle Applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft and Oracle JD Edwards; and Oracle GoldenGate 11g is now certified with Oracle Exadata Database Machine. Oracle GoldenGate 11g also includes new native delivery to Oracle TimesTen databases. Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g provides integration with Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Enterprise Manager, improving support for the entire lifecycle from developer productivity to manageability. In addition, Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g offers an integrated design environment with Oracle GoldenGate 11g's log-based, real-time change data capture and delivery capabilities. The solution enables customers to deploy real-time data warehousing solutions without impacting source systems or batch window dependencies.
There is also expanded support for heterogeneous systems and interoperability enhancements, notes Nash, explaining, "We recognize that our biggest customers especially are dealing with complex heterogeneous environments." Oracle GoldenGate 11g supports log-based capture from, and delivery to, IBM DB2; capture from JMS-based messaging systems and delivery to IBM DB2 for iSeries; and Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g provides additional support for online analytical processing (OLAP) systems including Oracle Essbase.
For improved performance, Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g's E-LT capabilities enable faster and more efficient loading and transformation of real-time data into a data warehouse, and Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 11g now runs on Oracle WebLogic Server, further improving scalability and performance. Additionally, Oracle GoldenGate 11g for the Oracle Database offers simplified recovery to reduce the recovery window for long running transactions that experience interruption. It also provides improved transaction tracing to more easily identify bottlenecks and then tune the data integration environment for optimum performance.
And, to further ensure that information is accurate and consistent across complex systems, Oracle also announced Oracle Data Quality for Data Integrator 11g and Oracle Data Profiling 11g, which are also part of Oracle's Data Integration product line.
