The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG), an independent, global, member-led organization that maximizes customers’ investment in Oracle and partner solutions, has announced Christine Hipp as its 2018 president. An active member of the OAUG since 2004, Hipp has served on the OAUG’s education, finance, governance, international, marketing, and meetings and conferences committees. She was elected in 2011 to the OAUG Board of Directors, where she served as the board secretary in 2013 and 2016 and president elect in 2017.
Hipp is currently an IT manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she specializes in strategic planning for IT applications and business processes. As an experienced and trusted implementer, Hipp works closely with internal and external teams to support Oracle E-Business Suite, OBIEE and other business applications and most recently has led several initiatives focused on evaluating cloud software and creating cloud software implementation strategies.
In addition to naming Christine Hipp as the OAUG’s new president, the board of directors also elected the following members of the OAUG’s 2018 executive committee: Douglas Manning of Johns Hopkins University – Applied Physics Laboratory as president elect, Andrew Farber of Consumer Reports as treasurer, and Kathleen Fauerbach of the City of Las Vegas as secretary.
The OAUG’s various opportunities for bringing members together to exchange problem-solving information and implementation experiences are critical components to career development for Oracle Applications users, said Hipp, noting that the rapidly changing technology landscape presents challenges but also many new possibilities for Oracle customers to reinvent themselves and their organizations.
